FLEWID
touch the water — it sings

Paint the water.
Play the music.

A living musical canvas — the painting is the score.

Flewid is an iPhone app that turns what you paint in water into music. Ink you drop into dark water becomes a musical score; a moving band of light reads it aloud. No musical training required.

The Sounding Water

How it works

Three ringed pigment blooms on the deep navy water of Flewid's NIGHT bath, the gold reading light crossing their boundaries.
01

Every mark has a voice.

Touch the water and pigment blooms. A moving line of light reads the shapes back as music—no beat grid or musical training required. Height is pitch, and every water keeps your marks in key.

A richly evolved marbling composition in Flewid's LUMEN water: a feathered cascade of gold and mint drawn corner to corner by the current.
02

The water keeps composing.

The water genuinely flows. Tilt the phone, stir with a finger, or set it down and let slow currents reshape the score — the piece you painted keeps rewriting itself, and no two passes of the light read the same.

A pulled Flewid print from the REEF water: a feathered comb cascade in silver-mint and blush on dark teal, exported by the app as a finished artwork.
03

Pull a print that sings.

Pull a print and Flewid reads its pixels into a measured song and synchronized film. The image you made remains the score — leave with a one-of-a-kind artwork, its music, and its film.

Questions

Asked plainly, answered plainly

What is Flewid?

An iPhone app that turns what you paint in water into music. The painting is the score: a band of light sweeps the water and strikes a note at every ink boundary it crosses.

Do I need musical training?

No. Every water carries its own musical key, and every mark you make lands inside it. Height is pitch; shape is rhythm. Anything you paint will sound intentional.

Is the music real or pre-made?

Real, and honest: notes only sound where the light crosses a boundary you painted. Empty water is silence. There are no backing loops pretending to be your painting.

Is this AI-generated?

No. Real physics, simulated live on your iPhone — every note is a real boundary in the water, struck the moment the light crosses it.

What do I get when I pull a print?

A one-of-a-kind image, its song, and a synchronized film. With Studio, the song comes as files you can produce with: a WAV master, aligned stems, and MIDI.

How much does it cost?

Free to download and genuinely playable free. Flewid Studio — one optional purchase, coming soon — will unlock all eleven waters and the production exports. No subscription, and everything free today stays free.

What does it run on?

iPhone. A Vision Pro version — the same water, hanging in your room — is in development.
